A Botetourt County company is about to bet bigger, and that means more jobs are on the way.  TREAD Corporation says it will expand its workforce by 100 over the next three years. More from News/Talk 960’s Evan Jones.

TREAD Corporation makes bulk handling equipment for the explosives industry, mostly for use around mines. The company says current annual sales total $48 million to companies around the world.  The company will spend $5 million to expand its operations,  bringing at least 100 new jobs in the next three years. Most will be production-oriented with an average salary of about $17.50 an hour plus benefits.

TREAD Corporation was founded in 1957. All administrative and production functions are handled at its Eastpark Commerce Center facility, where it currently employs 170.
