Virginia Tech researchers are looking for another group of Roanoke-area volunteers to go through their “resist diabetes” exercise study. Brenda Davy, an associate professor in the Department of Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise, says they’re looking for overweight non-smokers between 50 and 69 years old.
Davy says Virginia Tech is partnering with Roanoke-area health clubs to allow the volunteers to continue with the resistance exercise on their own after they complete the three-month program with personal trainers. You can find details at www.resist-diabetes.info.
