Roanoke County has received a $10,000 grant from the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries to purchase bear-proof garbage bins. The county’s Solid Waste Manager says the new containers will help keep the county cleaner and safer. The county plans on covering half of the cost of the bins, with interested residents paying the other half. WFIR’s Starr Anderson has the story.
