The man convicted of fatally shooting a Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy and hospital security guard in 2006 has lost his latest appeal. The State Supreme Court has rejected William Morva’s petition that challenged his guilty verdicts. Morva faces a death sentence for killing Deputy Eric Sutphin and Security Officer Derrick McFarland. The Supreme Court released the order last Friday and made it public today. The same court has previously affirmed Morva’s convictions and upheld his death sentence.
