Poplar Forest is the private retreat that Thomas Jefferson built in Bedford County, and it will mark Independence Day with activities reflecting life in Jefferson’s time. It includes music and performances that might be seen and heard in the late 1700’s and plenty of activities for children. The event at Poplar Forest begins at 11:00 this morning.
