Criminals are finding new ways to steal people’s personal information– through a false promise of inheritance. They contact people who have had a death in the family and tell them they have inherited money. The Better Business Bureau says a Roanoke resident recently lost a lot of money in such a scam by turning over personal information to the thieves.
