Roanoke Police are looking for two men who robbed people a motel room last weekend. Police say the two knocked on a door Saturday at the Starlight Motel on Melrose Avenue, and when the two people inside opened it, the pair outside barged in, showed a handgun and robbed the victims. Roanoke Police have posted surveillance video of the suspects and ask for your help in identifying them.

he Roanoke Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and locating two suspects in a reported robbery. Officers responded on August 20, 2011, at 4:46 p.m. to the Starlight Motel located in the 4400 block of Melrose Avenue. Two individuals stated that they were inside of a room at the motel when they heard a knock at the door. The individuals further stated that when they opened the door two suspects entered the room and one brandished a firearm. The suspects then reportedly bound the victims’ wrists and ankles, and took money and items from the victims before fleeing. They were last seen traveling on foot, westbound on Melrose Avenue. The victims were not transported to the hospital. No arrests have been made. The first suspect was described as a white male, approximately five feet ten inches in height, with a muscular build. He was described as being approximately 48 years old. The second suspect was described as a black male, approximately five feet ten inches in height, with a medium build. He was described as being between 30 and 35 years of age. Surveillance photographs of the suspects are below.
