The school dedicated its new track facilities this week — more lanes, a new rubber surface and new areas for field events like the jumps and pole vault. But that’s just part of a bigger plan which also includes a new field house. Cave Spring Athletic Director Jon Hartness says it will include locker rooms, an indoor practice facility and perhaps a weight room.
There is no timetable yet for construction; that depends upon the fund raising.
The starting point for all this was Cave Spring High School’s 50th anniversary several years ago. Also upgraded in recent years: the school’s softball and soccer fields.
