Vinton Public Works officials say they’ll need at least until Thursday to determine the full extent of damage to and under a main downtown street, one now closed until further notice. News/Talk 960’s Evan Jones has the latest.

The heavy rainfall on June 21, 2011 caused the roadway to become damaged on Pollard St. at the intersection of Cleveland Ave. This damage is requiring Pollard St. to be blocked off at this intersection for an unspecified period of time. Access to businesses in the immediate area is not affected and this information will be updated as available. Please use alternate routes until repairs can be made.
