A dump truck accident blocked Old Mill Road off Bent Mountain Road in Roanoke County for about three hours this morning.
Police say the truck ran off the road about 3:30 a.m. and rolled onto its side into a creek. It spilled its load of dirt and rock, along with about ten gallons of diesel fuel and motor oil. Haz-mat crews contained the spill, and one lane of the road was reopened. Police say the truck driver, 21-year-old Lucas Quesenberry of Blacksburg, was not hurt. They’ve charged him with failure to maintain control of his vehicle. Police say the dump truck is owned by JPAC of Christiansburg.
