The Roanoke Valley’s regional swift water rescue team was called into action today in Craig County. Team members from Roanoke and Salem rescued a driver who unsuccessfully tried to cross a water-covered roadway. Officials say the driver was taken for hospital treatment of possible environmental exposure. Officials say this serves as yet another reminder that when you encounter water over a roadway, turn around.
