
From Botetourt County Fire and EMS: Blue Ridge, VA — On Monday January 18th at 2:49AM fire and EMS were dispatched to the 100 block of Zimmerman Road for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival of initial units, the structure was found to be heavily involved with smoke and fire. Upon initial attack and search, crews found a female subject in an upstairs room. The victim was removed from the house, evaluated and determined to be deceased. The structure sustained major damage. The body has been trans-ported to the Medical Examiner’s office for identification. Crews remain on scene as of 7AM. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Departments operating on include Blue Ridge Fire & Rescue, Troutville Fire, Botetourt Fire & EMS career staff, Fincastle Fire, Montvale and Stewartsville Fire Departments.
