The first wind chill advisory of the season is posted for the overnight and early morning hours. At Roanoke Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Room, Medical Director Kevin Broyles says many hypothermia cases they see at such times often occur when people end up outside longer than they had planned:

The National Weather Service says temperatures in the teens and strong winds may push wind chill levels down to single digits overnight.
