
ICE officials say they have detained Virginia Tech student and Mexican national Cristian Romo-Bermejo who was brought to the US when he was two. WDBJ-7 reports Blacksburg Police arrested Romo-Bermejo on July 9th on two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct on hospital grounds. ICE confirmed they picked him up from the Montgomery County jail in Christiansburg, and he is currently in ICE custody in Farmville. According to a GO-FUND Me account set up for Romo-Bermejo he went to the hospital for help. No word on what type of help the 22-year-old was looking for or why police became involved.
