A Roanoke man is charged with drunken driving and hit-and-run after a vehicle crashed into the Goodwill store in the Hollins area Friday night.

Roanoke County police say the driver left the vehicle inside the front of the store and ran. Two security officers working in the area saw the wreck, chased the suspect and caught him in a nearby parking lot. Police charged 40-year-old Kevin J. Baumgardner with driving under the influence, hit-and-run and assaulting the two security officers who caught him. The accident happened about 10:00 p.m. at the store at 7208 Williamson Road. Police estimate damage to the building at several thousand dollars.
