The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect accused of stealing a car from an 81-year-old man. Officials say James Radford,32, broke into Eli Gentry’s home and took the keys to his 2001 Toyota Camry on August 27th after Gentry refused to give him a ride. The camry was recovered in Danville on Sunday. Radford is wanted on several charges.

From The Henry County Sheriff’s Office: On August 27, 2016 at approximately 1:23 pm the Henry County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 18863 A. L. Philpott Hwy., Spencer, VA in ref. to a home that had been broken into and the occupant was robbed. The victim, Eli Gentry, 81, reported that after hearing a knock at the door he observed a white male outside. The individual asked Gentry for a ride and then demanded his car keys. After refusing to give him his keys the male subject forced his way into the home and took the keys from the victim’s pocket.

After taking the victim’s car keys the suspect fled the home and stole the victim’s 2001 Toyota Camry. The suspect was described as a white male who looked to be young in age, approx. 6’00” with a slim build.

James Hunt Radford, AKA “JIM”, 32 of 715 Grand Lake Dr., Ridgeway, VA was later identified as the suspect. Radford is wanted by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office in relation to this incident on the following charges; Breaking & Entering, Robbery and Grand Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. All charges are felonies. In addition Radford is wanted for outstanding charges of Contempt of Court and Bail/Peace Release.

The stolen 2001 Toyota Camry was recovered in Danville, VA on September 11, 2016.
