A Roanoke Police Officer was involved in a shooting on Eastern Ave, adjacent to Thrasher Park in Roanoke early Saturday morning. The officer fired one round that struck the suspect. Leading up to this encounter the Roanoke Police had been involved with a vehicle pursuit, foot pursuit and a physical encounter with the suspect. The suspect received medical treatment for his injuries and has spoken with investigators. The officer involved in this event has been placed on administrative leave pending the full investigation.
