Virginia State Police say a missing Bedford County teen may be with a former school resource officer, recently arrested and fired for having inappropriate contact with an unnamed 16 year old. Authorities are looking for 16 year old Audrey Marie McCombs. She was last seen around 9:00 Sunday night at her home. Her family has not heard from her since then.
Police believe McCombs may be in the company of former Bedford County Sheriff’s Deputy Ernest William “E.W.” Grubbs. The 47 year old was a resource officer at the missing girl’s school, Liberty High School, until his firing and arrest for taking indecent liberties with a minor. Grubbs is out of jail on bond awaiting prosecution on numerous felony charges in Bedford County. He may be driving a gray 2004 Jeep Wrangler with Virginia plates XBK-8176.
