Vinton firefighters were called out around 8:00 am to battles flames at a home near William Byrd High School. Fire officials say no one was home at the time at 2948 Stonebridge Circle, and there are no injuries reported. Flames were coming through the roof of the split level home when firefighters arrived, but we do not have have further word yet on the cause or damage.
