The Republican-controlled House and Democrat-controlled Senate can’t agree on filling two Supreme Court vacancies. Delegate Greg Habeeb, a practicing attorney, says those two empty seats will unnecessarily delay justice for many Virginians.
If the General Assembly can’t agree on new appointments next month, Governor McDonnell could make recess appointments, but since they would not be permanent, they would not provide a long-term resolution to the legislative deadlock.
