RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Three men have been charged with felonies, and authorities are seeking a fourth man following an investigation of a break-in at the Science Museum of Virginia during a night of riots and looting, Virginia Capitol Police said.

A news release from police Friday said warrants listing four felony counts each were obtained for Makel Daizon Al-Qadaffi, 19; Zakeye Navon Turner, 18; Sherod Antoine Jenkins Jr., 19; and Allen Hargrove Jr., 25. All four are from Richmond and are charged with single counts of grand larceny, burglary, conspiracy to trespass or commit larceny and injury to any property.

Al-Qadaffi and Jenkins are being held on unrelated charges. Hargrove was arrested Thursday, and police were still looking for Turner on Friday. It wasn’t immediately clear if the men have attorneys who could comment on their behalf.

Investigators determined someone gained access to the museum on May 31 by smashing a basement window. The thieves made off with electronics and caused damages totaling $5,000.

While almost all the votes are now counted in Virginia, there are still some mail-in ballots coming in – and elections officials are busy working on provisional ballots. These are votes that were cast Tuesday but are not yet counted. There are many reasons this can happen, including this one: the dog ate my ballot. WFIR’s Evan Jones has more.

Virginia elections officials say with all the voting changes implemented this year in the state, a review is coming to see what worked well – and what might bear improvement. The process is hardly complete for the current election; many late-arriving mail-in votes can be counted through Friday, then there are local certifications next week and state ones to follow. Virginia Department of Elections Commissioner Chris Piper says after that comes a look back, as WFIR’s Evan Jones reports:

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia voters on Tuesday awarded the state’s 13 electoral votes to Democrat Joe Biden and returned Democrat Mark Warner to a third term in the U.S. Senate. The election will determine the staying power of a “blue wave” that flipped two competitive congressional districts in the state two years ago.

Warner defeated little-known Republican challenger Daniel Gade.

As in other states, voters were deciding between Republican President Donald Trump and Democratic former Vice President Joe Biden.

Virginia’s election features three competitive House races, including two seats that were flipped from red to blue in 2018.
