NEWS RELEASE: On July 1, 2020 just before 11:45 a.m., Roanoke Police received a report of a person jumping from a parking deck in the 100 block of Church Avenue SW. Responding officers located a deceased individual lying in the area below the parking garage. At this time, the incident appears to be consistent with a suicide. However, officers will continue to conduct a thorough death investigation.
