RICHMOND, Va. (AP) _ Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe is in Colombia for a two-day agricultural trade and marketing mission.
The Democratic governor is joining Agriculture and Forestry Secretary Todd Haymore, other state officials and Virginia agribusinesses and distributors on the trip to Bogota this week.
McAuliffe is meeting with business executives, government officials and others to discuss Virginia exports and bringing new investments to the state. The governor’s office says the delegation will attend more than 40 meetings during the trip.
Virginia exported nearly $55 million worth of agriculture and forestry products to Colombia last year. The country was Virginia’s 15th largest customer of those products.
The Colombia trip is McAuliffe’s 20th trade and marketing mission.
