Roanoke voters go to the polls one week from today to select their next mayor and three City Council members. We are profiling each of the candidates this week: yesterday, it was Mayor David Bowers, and today we look at Mark Lucas, the Republican challenger for mayor. He spoke with WFIR’s Evan Jones.

Lucas says when states and regions are competing to attract and encourage new job providers, he can take a more active and effective role than is now the case.
