PORTSMOUTH, Va. (AP) — Police presence was increased near a Virginia school bus stop where a man is accused of exposing himself to a student on Thursday, authorities said.

The man approached a Churchland High School student who was walking to the Portsmouth school bus stop around 6:30 a.m., according to Sgt. Misty Holley, a spokeswoman for the city’s police department.

Increased patrols in the area will continue through Friday, she said.

Churchland High School principal Shawn Millaci asked parents in a message on Thursday to “review best safety practices” with their students following the incident, news outlets reported.

The department hasn’t said whether any suspects have been identified. The investigation is ongoing.
