From the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office: Sheriff Ronnie Sprinkle reports that on Tuesday afternoon July 14, his Department received two calls of residential burglaries in the Blue Ridge area of the County. Based upon evidence from the scene, including photographic surveillance, his Investigators were able to develop a suspect and suspect vehicle. Warrants were obtained for Matthew D. Meade age 31 of Troutville VA. During the investigation, his Investigators were able to recover property stolen from one of the homes at a Roanoke area Pawn Shop about five minutes after Meade had sold them. Botetourt County Investigators were able to locate Meade Wednesday afternoon in Bedford County where he was arrested and taken into custody by Bedford County Deputies. Meade has been charged with Breaking and Entering, Grand Larceny and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, more charges could follow at the October term of the Botetourt County Grand Jury. Meade is currently being held in the Botetourt County Jail without bond.
