RICHMOND, Va. (AP) _ State science leaders will gather in the nation’s capital for the Virginia Summit on Science, Engineering and Medicine. The meeting co-hosted by U.S. Sen Mark Warner, Virginia Tech and the Virginia Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine will be held Friday at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C. Warner says the meeting gives Virginia academy members the chance to collaborate with representatives from government, industry and higher education institutions. Warner established the Virginia academy last year. The group is comprised of Virginia’s members of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering and the Institute of Medicine.
