RICHMOND, Va. (AP) _ Low-interest disaster loans are available to Virginia businesses and residents in southwest Virginia that were drenched by rains in late September and early October. The Small Business Administration loans are in response to a disaster declaration issued by Gov. Terry McAuliffe ahead of a fearsome hurricane that swung out to sea. The declaration covers Floyd County and the following adjacent counties: Carroll, Franklin, Montgomery, Patrick, Pulaski and Roanoke. The SBA says loans ranging into the hundreds of thousands of dollars are available to homeowners and renters to repair or replace personal property. A center is opening Wednesday in Floyd to assist potential loan applicants.
