Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal two vehicle crash which happened Monday in Franklin County.
A 1989 Dodge Diplomat was traveling east on Route 619 when it failed to yield the right-of-way at the intersection with Route 220. As the vehicle entered the intersection it was struck by a 2010 Ford F-150 traveling south on Route 220.
The driver of the Dodge, 79-year-old Joanne Holland of Rocky Mount, was wearing her seat belt and died at the scene.
The 2010 Ford was driven by 24-year-old John Yeaman, Jr of Martinsville. Yeaman was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.
No charges are pending.
The crash remains under investigation.
