After months of what it calls “critical repairs,” the Roanoke Valley SPCA has reopened its animal shelter once again. The facility on Baldwin Avenue Northeast had been closed since December, with a leaking 20-year-old roof forcing the closure of several dog kennels.
A failing HVAC system further impacted operations and made climate control difficult according to the shelter. Denise Hayes is CEO for the Roanoke SPCA:
