Chief Ray Lavinder

Roanoke County Police Chief Ray Lavinder says he will retire this fall, ending a law enforcement career lasting three decades.  He spoke with News/Talk 960’s Bob Clark.

A long-time service in Roanoke Valley law enforcement will soon come to an end. Roanoke County Police Chief Ray Lavinder said today he will retire November 1st from the job he has held since 1997. Lavinder is just the second Police Chief in Roanoke County history. Lavinder began his law enforcement service when he joined the Roanoke County Sheriff’s office.
