The Roanoke City Jail faces criticism for the six inmate deaths that have occurred in the last two years. The Roanoke Peoples Power Network organized a rally yesterday evening in front of the jail facility calling for change to prevent in-custody deaths, particularly suicide. The most recent incident occurred earlier this month when deputies discovered 35-year-old Joshua Jones hanging from a bed sheet in his cell.
