From Virginia State Police: Covington, Va. – Virginia State Police Trooper J. A. Kelly is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on January 10, 2016. The crash occurred at 9:30 am Sunday morning on Route 220, one mile south of Route 687 in Alleghany County. A 2003 Ford Taurus was traveling north on Route 220 when it crossed the center line and struck a 2015 Audi S4 which was traveling south on Route 220. The 2003 Ford was driven by Bonnetta Jean Beverly, 42, of Covington, Va. Ms. Beverly was not wearing her seatbelt and died at the scene. The 2015 Audi was driven by Christopher Scott Boone, 41, Moneta, Va. Mr. Boone was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
