Native to the rainforests of Madagascar, Red Ruffed Lemurs – a primate – are an endangered species. Now a mating pair of two year olds have a space of their own at Mill Mountain Zoo, in a new exhibit space that formerly housed the Zoo’s snow leopard. Red Lemurs are known for their rust-colored coats, golden-green eyes and distinct vocalizations. Habitat loss and illegal pet trading have made them scarce in the wild.
