It opened in 1956 as Cave Spring High School and has been a junior high and middle school since the mid 1960’s. Now its days are numbered as crews prepare to demolish the building before erecting a new one. The school will hold an open house this Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Former students and teachers are invited to walk through halls and classrooms one final time. You can also sign up go get a brick from the building when they tear it down. A new middle school will go up in its place, and school officials hope it will be ready for the 2012-13 school year. Until then, Cave Spring Middle School 6th and 7th graders will head to Hidden Valley Middle, and 8th graders will go to space set aside at Cave Spring High.
