
Melrose Plaza celebrated its official grand opening this morning. As we reported earlier this week, the community hub in northwest Roanoke created by Goodwill Industries of the Valleys and numerous partners features a full-service supermarket, a bank, a café and an adult high school, with a wellness center and a re-imagined Harrison Museum of African American Culture coming soon.
Today’s grand opening included a “History Wall,” and Living Legends gallery, plaques honoring the accomplishments of those past and present, that made a difference in northwest Roanoke. Richmond Vincent, President & CEO for Goodwill, on how unique Melrose Plaza is:
