A series of live music events still being formulated called “Blue Ridge Holler,” will raise funds next month for Virginia and North Carolina communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. Friends of the Blue Ridge is partnering with local venues including Jefferson Center, Grandin Theatre and 5 Points Music Sanctuary.
The 10-day fundraiser kicks off November 21st with Caitlyn Krisko and the Broadcast; Friends of the Blue Ridge is still looking for other musicians to take part. Whalen says the funds raised will go towards efforts to rebuild parks, trails, artist studios and music venues impacted by Helene, and that align with the “Friends,” mission Friends executive director Julie Whalen:
