NORFOLK, Va. – ESPN’s flagship morning debate show, First Take, is heading to Norfolk State University for a special live broadcast on Thursday, Aug. 28, from the Joseph G. Echols Memorial Hall.
The event will bring hosts Stephen A. Smith and Molly Qerim to the campus, placing a national spotlight on the university’s community, traditions, and “Spartan pride.” The broadcast aims to highlight the vibrant culture of one of the nation’s premier Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
This visit offers a unique opportunity for the university to connect with a broad audience.

The live broadcast will be an interactive experience for those in attendance. Students, alumni, and fans are invited to be part of the live audience and will have the chance to participate in the show’s energetic atmosphere. The event is expected to include special segments and giveaways, giving the NSU community a behind-the-scenes look at the popular sports talk show.
