The House of Representatives is now considering a bill sponsored by Congressman Morgan Griffith that takes on the Environmental Protection Agency. WFIR’s Evan Jones has the story.
The “EPA Regulatory Relief Act of 2011” would require the Environmental Protection Agency to rewrite regulations for industrial boilers — and give industries, hospitals and universities that use them more time to meet the cost of compliance. Griffith says the cost of implementation as scheduled will mean lost jobs. Critics say the bill constitutes a “toxic assault” that compromises public health. A vote is currently scheduled for next Tuesday.
