After reaching and surpassing a 100 million dollar goal during a capital campaign to fund construction of the new Carilion Taubman Cancer Center, a second drive was announced today by Carilion Clinic – a 50 million dollar target to help bring Proton beam therapy to the new Center, described as a pinpoint form of advanced radiation treatment. 20 million of that total for Proton Beam Therapy has already been raised, thanks in large part to another major donation from Nicholas and Jenny Taubman.
