I-73 planning goes on, but no funding to design or build it

VDOT holds a public hearing next week on a proposed corridor change for Interstate 73, but there’s still no money to design the highway, let alone build it. More from News/Talk 960’s Evan Jones.

The state approved a general I-73 corridor between Roanoke and North Carolina almost seven years ago, but Henry County Supervisors asked VDOT to consider changes in their county, and the agency will conduct  a hearing March 29 on the environmental assessment. That hearing starts at 4:00 pm at Laurel Park Middle School in Martinsville. VDOT officials say everything else involving Interstate 73 remains pretty much on hold.
