It’s the end of an era today in Roanoke County. The main library building will close its doors for at 6:00 pm today, ending a run that lasted more than four decades. But as WFIR’s Evan Jones reports, it will remain a very building for at least one more week.

Roanoke County Libraries Director Diana Rosapepe says there’s a lot of work ahead — moving more than 130,000 books and records.
The new library opens January 3rd. Until then, you can hold on to any books due at the main library or put them in the drop box outside.
