The Roanoke County School Board has announced several administrative appointments, effective July 1.
Matthew Coe has been named an assistant principal at William Byrd Middle. Coe first joined Roanoke County Public Schools in 2004 as a teacher at Northside High School. He worked in Craig County Public Schools from 2011-2013 and returned to Roanoke County Public Schools in 2013 as a teacher at William Byrd High School.
Laurie McCracken has been named an assistant principal at Northside High School. McCracken joined Roanoke County Public Schools in 2008 as a teacher at Northside High School and later became a special education coordinator.
Angela Morris has been named the new assistant principal at Glenvar Elementary. Morris joined Roanoke County Public Schools in 2003 as a teacher at Oak Grove Elementary and has taught there since.
Leanne Williams has been named the new assistant principal at Herman L. Horn Elementary. Williams joined Roanoke County Public Schools in 2007 as a teacher at Herman L. Horn and has taught there since.
Julie Sandzimier has been named the new assistant principal at Green Valley Elementary. Sandzimier first joined Roanoke County Public Schools in 2001 as a teacher at Burlington Elementary. In 2007, she became a teacher at Bonsack Elementary. In 2015, she left Roanoke County Public Schools to join Roanoke City Public Schools.
Arrin Alaniz is the new assistant principal at Mountain View Elementary. She comes to Roanoke County Public Schools having served as a teacher, instructional coach and assistant principal in Tennessee for twelve years.
Wesley Warner is the new assistant principal at Burlington Elementary. Warner comes to Roanoke County Public Schools having served as a behavior specialist and special education teacher/principal at a private school in Roanoke City and most recently as a special education teacher in Salem.
