NORFOLK, Va. (AP) _ Veterans who need a hand with legal services could soon find it. Virginia Attorney General Mark R. Herring has scheduled two news conferences Monday to announce an initiative to provide low-income veterans with pro bono, or free of charge, legal services. He’ll be joined by officials with the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, the Virginia State Bar and military service organizations. Herring’s first stop will be in Norfolk. The scheduled speakers include Mayor Paul Fraim. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs says Virginia has nearly 800,000 veterans.
