ROANOKE, Va. (AP) _ Roanoke police are investigating the death of a homeless man who was assaulted in September. Police spokesman Scott Leamon tells The Roanoke Times that 62-year-old Thomas Patrick Corriveau died at a hospital on Monday from complications stemming from the Sept. 30 attack. The medical examiner’s office ruled Corriveau’s death as a homicide. Leamon says Roanoke Fire-EMS responders found Corriveau on Oct. 1 with injuries to his face and his side after they responded to a report of an intoxicated person. Corriveau was taken to a local hospital. Corriveau later told investigators that he had been beaten and robbed by multiple males. Leamon says Corriveau knew the attackers but refused to identify them, and he didn’t want to press charges.
