Detectives with the Roanoke Police Department arrested a teenager for the fatal Southwest shooting that left a man dead.
A 16-year-old male, of Roanoke, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
On August 3, 2025, at approximately 12:28 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of 12th St SW for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a man with gunshot wound injuries outside of a vehicle. He died at the scene.
The victim was later identified as 43-year-old Isaac Lamont Cunningham, of Roanoke.
