Work is under way for the next phase of the Roanoke River Greenway. When complete, this new stretch will run about 1 1/2 miles from Riverside Park to the Moyer Sports Complex. At a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday, Salem City Planner Ben Tripp said the greenway is more than a park: it can attract more people to the city and Roanoke Valley. WFIR’s Evan Jones was there.
