With snow expected today, Virginia Department of Transportation crews are preparing equipment and chemicals to be ready to respond. With cold pavement temperatures, roads could become slick and snow covered very quickly. VDOT wants to remind drivers that during winter weather crews work on the interstates and primary roads first. Until the snow stops and the main roads are plowed and treated, crews will not plow secondary roads and neighborhood streets.
