The University of Virginia reports the number of black high school students applying for early action this fall is slightly lower than last year, and UVA officials think it is related to the summer white nationalist rallies in Charlottesville. The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports the university’s admission officials say it is the only group for which early action applications are down.
