LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) _ The Virginia Tech professor who led a team of researchers that exposed the Flint, Michigan, water crisis is among the featured speakers at Virginia Military Institute’s annual environmental symposium. Marc Edwards is a MacArthur “genius” grant recipient and one of the nation’s top experts on water contamination. He will join Gov. Terry McAuliffe and others at the 27th edition of the Environment Virginia Symposium, which begins Tuesday in Lexington. The conference brings together state environmental officials, industry representatives and non-profit organizations. More than 50 sessions will examine issues ranging from the clean-up of the Chesapeake Bay to climate change, among others. The symposium runs through Thursday.
